Anyone who knows me also knows how much I love my blue cheese dressing. I could literally put that on anything! I even joked around a couple of times that I’d be willing to put blue cheese dressing on a bowl of cornflakes.
Before you cringe too heartily and hastily, keep in mind that I don’t eat my cereal with milk. Never have, never will, so perhaps adding this creamy, delectable goodness to a bowl of cornflakes isn’t as far fetched as it seems.
I hate the taste of milk, whether it’s being served ice-cold in a glass or being poured over a bowl of cereal. But, I do love to cook with it and mix it into various recipes. The best bleu cheese dressing recipe I’ve made at home called for buttermilk.
Seems too simple to be true, huh? This stuff turned out great, but you have to use it up quickly. The buttermilk will start to turn, and the sauce becomes runny and loose. Adding a bit more mayo and sour cream helps to keep things thick and creamy.
